The sixth edition of WordCamp Nepal is just around the corner, and as anticipation builds for this exciting event, we are thrilled to unveil the official logo that will represent it. We will take you behind the scenes of the logo selection process, share the inspirations behind the chosen design, and give some honorable mentions to outstanding logo submissions that didn’t make the final cut.
The Selection Process
The journey towards finding the perfect logo for WordCamp Nepal began with an open call for logo submissions. We were overwhelmed by the incredible response from our talented community. Designers from all corners of Nepal submitted their creative interpretations of what WordCamp Nepal represents.
The submissions were judged by WordPress Nepal community members and representatives from the organizing committee of WordCamp Nepal 2024. The logo submissions were meticulously assessed on the basis of criterias such as creativity, relevant to the event’s theme, and the potential to leave a lasting impression.
The Chosen Logo
After much deliberation, one logo stood out as the clear winner. Designed by Sushil Neupane Saurab, the chosen logo embodies the essence of WordCamp Nepal 2024 — celebrating the harmony and coexistence of diverse elements in Nepal, while embracing the vibrant WordPress Community.
At the heart of this remarkable design, you’ll find a powerful combination of symbols. The serene image of Buddha, a revered icon of Nepal’s spiritual heritage, radiates peace and unity. It harmoniously coexists with the majestic mountain peaks, representing Nepal’s breathtaking natural landscapes. Adjacent to this, a Hindu Temple stands as a symbol of Nepal’s rich cultural tapestry.
Intertwined with these cultural and spiritual symbols is the unmistakable WordPress logo, blending seamlessly into the composition. The integration symbolizes the dynamic interaction between technology, creativity and tradition.
“This logo conveys the message that the WordPress community is not just about technology; it’s about the coexistence of diverse perspectives, just like Nepal itself.”
Yam Bahadur Chhetri, Global Lead, WordCamp Nepal 2024
This logo serves as a testament to the unity in diversity that WordCamp Nepal 2024 aims to foster—a coming together of different cultures, beliefs, and ideas within the warm embrace of the WordPress community. It’s a visual representation of Nepal’s essence and the inclusive spirit of WordPress enthusiasts worldwide.
