Demystifying CWV for WordPress

Trying to get the perfect or even a good score with Core Web Vitals is always a challenge. The first step is to use best practices, but those barely move the needle. Then you dive deeper into the code, you find that the theory doesn’t translate into reality. Invariably, as you fix one metric, another one will plummet. To add to these woes, every time you run the test, you get a different score. We have spent 2 years working with 1000s of sites to improve their scores. We faced all these challenges firsthand, and discovered a few more for good measure. This led us to dig deeper as to what is really happening. In this talk we will share what we have learnt and how CWV applies to a WordPress site.
