We welcome speakers from all backgrounds and experience levels. You don’t need to be an experienced speaker to apply—whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro, we’re excited to hear from you!

Do You Need Prior Speaking Experience?

Not at all! We welcome first-time speakers and are here to support you. While some speaking experience is helpful, it’s not a requirement. Even if you’ve never spoken at a WordCamp or Meetup, we’d love to hear your ideas. We also offer resources, tips, and mentoring to help you prepare a great talk.

• What language should my talk be in?
  To warmly welcome our international attendees, we are prioritizing English language talks to ensure a seamless and inclusive experience for everyone!
• How many talks can I submit?
  You’re welcome to submit up to two ideas—trust us, we’re excited to hear your very best!
• Should You Buy a Ticket?
  You can purchase a ticket when ticket sales open. If you are selected as a speaker, we will give you a complimentary ticket to attend the event. You can then transfer your purchased ticket to someone else.
• What are the next steps after I submit my application?
  Once we receive your application, we’ll review it and let you know if you’ve been selected to speak at WordCamp Nepal 2025. If you’re chosen, we’ll ask you to reconfirm your interest and availability to speak.
• Are You Open to Being a Backup Speaker?
  During the event, we may need to activate a backup speaker due to unforeseen circumstances. Just in case, let us know if you are willing to be a backup speaker. Don’t worry—opting in as a backup speaker doesn’t mean you won’t be selected as a main speaker. It simply helps the program team know who is open to this role if they are not selected as the main speaker.
• Do I need to check visa requirements?
  Yes, if you’re traveling from outside Nepal, it’s a good idea to check the visa requirements early. If you need help with your visa application, don’t hesitate to contact us at wcnp.speakers@gmail.com. We’ll assist you however we can.
• Will I get support preparing my talk?
  Yes! While prior speaking experience is not required, we’re here to help. If you need tips or mentoring, just reach out to wcnp.speakers@gmail.com, and we’ll connect you with the resources and support you need.
