Are you ready to make a difference in the WordPress community? WordCamp Nepal 2025 is happening on April 4th and 5th, 2025, at the beautiful Kundalini Durbar Banquet in Kathmandu, Nepal and we’re calling on passionate WordPress enthusiasts to join our volunteer team!

Event Operation Roles

  • Hall Lead
  • Time Keeper

Hall Lead

The Hall Lead is responsible for overseeing activities in assigned halls, manage schedules and ensure smooth transitions.

Reports to: Program/Volunteer Team Organizers

Time Keeper

The Timekeeper ensures that sessions run on track by alerting speakers and ensuring punctuality.

Reports to: Assigned Hall Lead

Mic Runner

Provide on-demand support across teams, assist in setup, and handle Q&A microphones.

Reports to: Assigned Hall Lead

Speaker Helper

Support speakers with preparation, technical needs, and venue navigation for a seamless presentation. Also, ensure speakers are on time and prepared.

Reports to: Program Team

Door Attendant

Welcome attendees, maintain order at entrances, and help maintain a quiet environment during sessions.

Reports to: Assigned Hall Lead

Attendee Support Roles

  • Registration Support
  • Lunch Assistant

Registration Support

Manage the registration desk, handle escalations, and oversee attendee check-ins for a smoothe registration experience.

Reports to: AX & Volunteer Team

Lunch Assistant

Familiarize yourself with the food station locations and setup. Help attendees locate food stations and cater to dietary preferences (Halal, vegetarian, etc.).

Reports to: AX & Volunteer Team

Swag Distributor

Set up and organize the swag table neatly. Facilitate the organized distribution of event swag to attendees.

Reports to: AX & Volunteer Team

Event Support Roles

  • Pre/Post Party Event Manager
  • Information Desk Attendant

Information Desk Assistant

Provide event details about the venue, schedule, tracks, workshops & directions, and manage lost & found inquiries.

Reports to: AX Team

Pre/Post Party Entrance Manager

Welcome guests to pre/post-event gatherings and ensure entry is well-organized. Check attendees and make sure only authorized guests enter, verify badges, and manage smooth entry to avoid delays or crowding.

Reports to: Venue, After and Before Party & Venue Team

Media & Communications Roles

  • Social Media Helper

Social Media Helper

Post live updates, engage with the online community, and amplify event highlights. Reply to comments and messages quickly and encourage attendees to use the event hashtags.

Reports to: Communication Team

Photographer

Capture quality event photos for social media and promotions during the event, focusing on sessions, attendees, and key moments. Volunteers must have their own photography camera to ensure professional-quality shots.

Reports to: Media / Communication Team

Emcee / Event Host

Host sessions, introduce speakers, and keep the audience engaged throughout the event. Coordinate with Time Keeper and Hall Lead to maintain schedule adherence.

Reports to: Assigned Hall Lead

Contributor Day Assistant

Ensure sessions run smoothly, assist speakers, and manage audience queries. Guide contributors, provide resources, and facilitate onboarding for WordPress contributions.

Reports to: Contributor Day Team

Provide dedicated support to sponsors, help set up booths, and resolve issues.

Reports to: Sponsor team

Errand Runner

Quickly handle urgent tasks during the event, like buying or bringing items. Having a motorcycle is a plus

Reports to: AX Team

Volunteers get a free ticket. If you buy one and are selected, it will be refunded.
