Honoring Ujwal Thapa Legacy at WordCamp Nepal 2026
WordCamp Nepal 2026 is honored to continue the Ujwal Thapa Memorial Scholarship, established to recognize the contributions of the late Ujwal Thapa, a visionary leader who co-founded the WordPress Nepal community. His dedication to open-source, education, and community-building helped create a thriving network of over 15,000 members, shaping Nepal’s WordPress ecosystem.
In keeping with his legacy, this scholarship aims to provide access and opportunity to individuals passionate about WordPress who face financial or geographic constraints, ensuring that knowledge and community remain inclusive.
Scholarship Overview
The Ujwal Thapa Memorial Scholarship provides selected participants with:
- Full access to the 2-day WordCamp Nepal 2026 event, including all sessions, workshops, contributor activities, and networking opportunities.
- Bus travel support and 3 nights/4 days of accommodation (including food) for scholars traveling from outside Rupandehi.
- Opportunities to connect with WordPress professionals, contributors, and community leaders throughout the event.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
There are 5 scholarships available. Applicants are encouraged to apply if they:
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in WordPress and its community
- Require financial support to attend
- Preferably reside in rural or underrepresented areas of Nepal
- Show enthusiasm to learn, contribute, and engage in the community
Applicants must fill out the scholarship form with genuine and honest answers, helping the committee understand their motivation, interest, and need.

Note : The selection of scholarship recipients will be carried out solely by the WordCamp Nepal 2026 Organizing Committee. All decisions made by the committee will be final, and no appeals, objections, or disputes regarding the selection will be entertained. The committee is committed to ensuring a fair, unbiased, and transparent evaluation process.
