WordCamp Nepal 2026 is just around the corner, and we’re excited to announce that WordCamp Nepal 2026 is now accepting Table Lead applications for Contributor Day!

Contributor Day is the heartbeat of WordCamp Nepal, offering a full day of collaboration, learning, and giving back to the WordPress community. Whether you’re a developer, designer, translator, writer, or passionate WordPress supporter, this is your chance to lead and make a real impact.

We’re looking for passionate and experienced contributors to join us as Table Leads to guide participants, offer support, and inspire others to contribute to the WordPress ecosystem.

What is Contributor Day?

Contributor Day is a key event that brings the WordPress community together to build, share, and grow the platform. It’s a day where individuals from all backgrounds whether developers, designers, translators, or content creators unite to contribute to the WordPress ecosystem in meaningful ways.

From writing code and designing interfaces to making WordPress accessible in multiple languages, everyone plays a part. Whether you’re new to contributing or a seasoned member, the focus is on learning, sharing, and growing WordPress as a community. It’s all about making the platform better, together.

At its core, Contributor Day is about giving back to the community. It’s an opportunity to connect with others, gain new skills, and contribute to a project that impacts millions of users worldwide. The energy and excitement at these events are contagious, making it a great way to get involved and become part of the WordPress journey.

What a Table Lead Does?

As a Table Lead, you’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming and productive environment for contributors throughout Contributor Day. You’ll be the go-to person who guides and mentors participants, helping them feel comfortable and engaged while creating a fun space for learning and collaboration.

You will

• Introduce contributors to your area of expertise
• Help them get started with WordPress.org, GitHub, or other platforms
• Provide both beginner-friendly and advanced contribution tasks
• Encourage teamwork and open discussion
• Keep a short record of your group’s progress so we can celebrate the outcomes together

You’ll have full support from the Contributor Day organizing team, who will provide materials, documentation, and any other resources you need to ensure a smooth and successful experience for everyone involved.

Planned Contribution Areas

Here’s what we have planned for this year’s Contributor Day, with a range of exciting areas for you to get involved in:

• Theme Review:
  Guide contributors on how to review, test, and submit themes that follow WordPress coding and design standards.
• Pattern:
  Create and share block patterns for the WordPress Pattern Directory, helping others to design faster and better.
• Photos:
  Contribute creative and high-quality photographs to the WordPress Photo Directory, supporting the global community with diverse and useful images.
• Basic WP:
  Assist first-time contributors in setting up WordPress locally and guide them through the platform’s key features and structure.
• Polyglot (Translations):
  Help translate WordPress core, plugins, and themes into Nepali and other local languages, making WordPress more accessible to users worldwide.
• WP-CLI:
  Teach developers how to use the WordPress Command Line Interface to manage sites quickly and efficiently.
• Plugin Development:
  Guide contributors in developing or improving plugins, sharing best practices for writing secure, maintainable code.
• Theme Development:
  Work alongside contributors to design and build modern block themes, shaping the future of WordPress design.
