Ready to be at Nepal’s largest WordPress event? WordCamp Nepal 2026 is scheduled to take place on January 23rd and 24th, 2026, at Manigram Bishram Batika, Butwal. It requires the help of energetic, motivated, and committed volunteers to make this yet another memorable event.

Roles You Might Take On

To make WordCamp Nepal 2026 a smooth and memorable experience, we are recruiting volunteers of the following categories at present:

Event Operations Roles

  • Hall Lead: In charge of the overall management for an allotted session hall. You will collaborate with speakers, manage seamless change-overs between the talk sessions, and deal with logistics problems within the hall. You will also be the point person for the Time Keepers, Mic Runners, and the Door Attendants for the whole hall.
    Reports to: Program Team & Volunteer Team
  • Time Keeper: Coordinates the smooth flow of sessions on-time by monitoring speaker timings and alerting when their time is expiring. Coordinates with Hall Lead and Emcee for maintaining on-time schedules.
    Reports to: Assigned Hall Lead
  • Mic Runner: Assists in handling Q&A sessions by swiftly relocating microphones to the audience. You will maintain sessions interactive and productive with the assurance that all voices are heard.
    Reports to: Assigned Hall Lead
  • Door Attendant: Stands at the entrances during sessions to receive the guests, guide guests to vacant seats, and help maintain the quiet atmosphere during the proceeding discussions. You also manage the flow of guests during breaks.

  • Speaker Helper: Offers direct assistance to speakers by taking care of setup, presentation requirements, and movement around the venue. You will help ensure speakers are set, settled, and on time for their sessions.

Attendee Support Roles

  • Registration Support: The first point of contact for attendees. You’ll greet participants, check them in, verify registrations, hand out badges, and resolve any check-in issues. This role requires patience and a welcoming attitude.
    Reports to: AX & Volunteer Team
  • Swag Distributor: Oversees the distribution of swag items and WordCamp merchandise. You will ensure equitable distribution, manage stock, and create a fun and exciting atmosphere in the booth for the visitors.

  • Lunch Assistant: Helps organize the flow of attendees during lunch service, guides them to designated areas, and assists with dietary requirement queries. You’ll also ensure waste is managed correctly.

Event Support Roles

  • Pre/Post Party Entrance Manager: Allows easy access to after-parties and networking receptions. You’ll check badges, aid in crowd management, and provide safe, friendly access.

  • Information Desk Attendant: Acts as the information hub for the guests. You will also deal with inquiries regarding the agenda, ground plan, Wi-Fi, activities, and lost & found.
    Reports to: AX & Volunteer Team

Media & Communications Roles

  • Social Media Helper: Supports the communications team by live-posting updates, photos, and short stories on WordCamp’s social channels. You’ll also track hashtags, engage with online attendees, and help boost event visibility.

  • Photographer: Key event activity coverage includes speaker sessions, networking sessions, and informal attendee moments. You need to supply the camera and an eye for visual storytelling.

  • Event Host / Emcee: Keeps the energy alive throughout the event. You’ll introduce speakers, make important announcements, guide attendees through the schedule, and keep sessions on track in collaboration with Hall Leads and Time Keepers.

Sponsor & Contributors Support

  • Contributor Day Assistant: Has an indispensable role during Contributor Day by helping the attendees with setup, directing them to the appropriate teams, and facilitating smooth onboarding for the new contributors.
    Reports to: Contributor Day Team
  • Sponsor Assistance: Assists sponsors in the setup of booths, adds logistic support, and secures all required needs for visibility and interactions. You will also function as an intermediary between sponsors and the organizing team.

  • Errand Runner: Provides flexible on-demand support for unexpected last-minute needs during the event. Work may include mobilizing supplies, aiding emergencies, or filling in for other roles.
