About The venue

Come for WordPress. Stay for Nepalgunj.
WordCamp Nepal 2027 is heading west! For two days, Siddhartha Cottage, Nepalgunj, will be our home for learning, connecting, contributing, sharing ideas, and probably talking about WordPress long after the sessions end.
Located on Ratna Rajmarg, Siddhartha Cottage is one of Nepalgunj’s well-known hospitality destinations and the Siddharth Group’s first establishment. The restaurant has been part of Nepalgunj’s hospitality scene for around 25 years, growing into a spacious venue for dining, celebrations, conferences, and large gatherings.
Spread across around 30 katthas, the venue has eight halls of different sizes, including a grand hall that can accommodate up to 1,000 people. Its main restaurant can serve around 300 guests at once, while the overall venue can host thousands for larger events.
In other words: we have plenty of room for WordPress! 😄

More Than Just a Venue
Every WordCamp has a place where the magic happens.
- The sessions happen there.
- The hallway conversations happen there.
- The spontaneous introductions happen there.
- Someone meets their future collaborator there.
- Someone discovers an open-source project there.
- Someone says, “Hey, I have an idea…” and three hours later, there’s a new project.
That’s what we’re hoping Siddhartha Cottage will be for #WCNP2027, not simply a place where the event takes place, but a place where our community comes together.
And, because no great WordCamp is complete without great food, Siddhartha Cottage has recently received an “Outstanding” Three-Star A rating for food quality and hygiene, following an inspection by the Food Technology and Quality Control Office, Nepalgunj. So yes, your WordCamp brain fuel is in good hands! 🍛☕
And Then There’s Nepalgunj…
You can’t really talk about our venue without talking about the city around it.
Nepalgunj is a city of crossroads.
It is where cultures, communities, languages, traditions, food, and journeys meet. Its streets carry the energy of the Terai, the warmth of western Nepal, and the unmistakable character of a city closely connected to the Indian border.
And then there is the food. 🌶️
Come hungry. Seriously.
From local sweets and chaat to samosas, biryani, kebabs, and the many flavours found around the bustling markets, Nepalgunj has a food scene worth exploring.
WordCamp tip: Don’t spend the entire trip inside the venue. 😉
A Little Culture Between the Sessions
When you’re ready to step away from your laptop, Nepalgunj has plenty to explore.
Visit Bageshwori Temple, one of Nepalgunj’s most important cultural and religious landmarks. The temple sits beside a pond in the old part of the city and is dedicated to Goddess Bageshwori.
And while you’re there, look out for Junge Mahadev, the distinctive moustached Shiva shrine standing in the pond. Yes, you read that correctly: a moustached Mahadev! It is one of the city’s most recognisable and unusual landmarks.
- Take a walk through the old bazaar.
- Try something you’ve never eaten before.
- Have a cup of tea with a local.
- Take a rickshaw ride.
- Get slightly lost.
- Discover something unexpected.
Because sometimes the best part of a WordCamp isn’t on the schedule.
