The Call for Table Leads for WordCamp Nepal 2027 is now open. On 29th January 2027, Contributor Day will bring WordPress contributors together at Siddhartha Cottage, Nepalgunj, further west than WordCamp Nepal has ever been.
Whether you’ve led tables at WordCamps around the world or have never led one before, there’s a seat at the head of a table with your name on it. Applications close on 25 November 2026.

Why Your Table Matters
WordPress is built by people who gave their time, and almost every contributor can name the person who helped them make their first contribution.
A forum reply. A patient explanation. A Table Lead who said, “Let me show you.” As a Table Lead, you become that person for someone else.
Now picture the whole room. Students from Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim contributing to open source for the very first time. Translators bringing more of WordPress into Nepali, one string at a time. Developers who have travelled across the country, and across oceans, to be here.
Every one of them needs a table to sit at, and every table needs a lead.
One day at your table could be where someone’s whole contribution story begins.

You Don’t Need to Be an Expert
You don’t need to be a core committer. You don’t need a team rep badge. You don’t need to know every answer.
You need to know your team’s tools, care about your contribution area, and enjoy watching someone’s face light up when their first contribution goes through.
If you’ve led tables at the world’s biggest WordCamps, we’d be honoured to welcome you to Nepalgunj. If you’ve never led one, we’ll help you prepare with a preparation call and support from the organizing team all day long.
You can lead your table in English or Nepali.

What a Table Lead Does
Leading a table is one day of your time, with plenty of support around it.
Before
Join a preparation call with the organizing team, get your team’s setup notes ready, and pick a few good first tasks.
On the Day
Welcome everyone, from first-time contributors to seasoned contributors. Help them get set up and guide them as needed in English or Nepali.
After
Share what your table achieved with your Make team, and help new contributors find their next step.

Contribute by Day, Explore by Evening
Nepalgunj is a city at the crossroads, where Nepali, Awadhi, Urdu, and Tharu fill the same streets.
When your table packs up for the day, step outside. Visit the Bageshwori Temple, look for the moustached Junge Mahadev in the pond beside it, and find out why everyone tells you to come to Nepalgunj hungry.
Then come back the next morning for Conference Day on 30th January 2027.
