Be a Guide at WP Kurakani Corner: A New Conversation Space at WordCamp Nepal 2027

WP Kurakani Corner: Call for Guides at WordCamp Nepal 2027

We’re excited to introduce WP Kurakani Corner, a new conversation space at WordCamp Nepal 2027, and to open a call for Guides.

Kurakani (कुराकानी) is a Nepali word that means a friendly chat. That is exactly what this program is about: people sharing real experiences in WordPress and open source, one conversation at a time. WP Kurakani Corner is inspired by the Open-Source Library at WordCamp Asia 2026, adapted for our community here in Nepal.

What is WP Kurakani Corner?

WP Kurakani Corner is a small, relaxed space where attendees (“Participants”) can sit down with an experienced community member (a “Guide”) and hear about their journey. It is not a talk, a workshop, or a help desk. It is a conversation.

Conversations are expected to be led by participants’ questions, in the areas where the Guide is an expert. Think of it as a simple question-and-answer session where Guides share real-life examples and stories.

Here is what defines the program:

  • Conversation first. Kurakani means “chat,” which fits the idea of conversations rather than standard WordCamp sessions.
  • Lived experience. A Guide shares their own journey in open source, WordPress, and beyond.
  • Bookable slots. Participants reserve a time slot with a Guide in advance.
  • Not tech support. Guides share their stories, knowledge, and expertise, but this is not a technical support session. Laptops are optional for both Guides and participants.

How It Works?

WP Kurakani Corner is optional and open to all WordCamp Nepal 2027 attendees. To take part, you need to book a slot with the Guide you’d like to talk to before the event.

We’re planning to run WP Kurakani Corner on both Contributor Day and Conference Day.

There are two types of slots:

• 15 minutes for one participant with a Guide.

• 30 minutes for a small group of participants (up to 5) with a Guide.

The list of selected Guides and the booking form will be published later. We’ll announce them here on the WordCamp Nepal 2027 website.

Call for Guides

Guides are community members, including experienced contributors and industry experts who are happy to share what they have learned along the way.

Maybe you found WordPress by accident, made your first contribution years ago, built a company or a community, or changed careers. Your story could help someone else find their path.

WP Kurakani Corner Guide

As a Guide, you will:

  • Share your own journey and insights on WordPress, open source, and beyond.
  • Talk with individual participants in 15-minute slots and with small groups in 30-minute slots.
  • Answer participants’ questions in your areas of expertise and keep the conversation welcoming and open.

How to Apply?

Fill out the Guide application form below by 25 November 2026. You can also show your willingness to be a WP Kurakani Corner Guide in the Call for Speakers form or the Call for Contributor Day Table Leads form, if you’re applying for either.

The call closes on 25 November 2026 at 11:59 PM Nepal time.

We can’t wait to see the conversations that happen in the Corner. If you have a story to share, we’d love to hear from you.
