Why Should You Sponsor WordCamp Nepal 2027?

Call for Sponsors | WordCamp Nepal 2027

(and no, “good karma” is not the only reason)

Let’s skip the part where we pretend sponsorship is pure charity. Part of it is giving back. Part of it is good business. Both are fine, and we’d rather tell you straight than hide it behind a logo and a smile.

So, what are you sponsoring?

WordCamp Nepal 2027 takes place on January 29-30, 2027, in Nepalgunj, and it’s the first time WordCamp Nepal has ever come to the city. We expect 500+ attendees, plus organisers, volunteers, and sponsors. January 29 is Contributor Day, when people give back to WordPress itself, and not just talk about it.

Volunteers run everything. Sponsor money is what keeps tickets affordable, so students and freelancers can walk in without selling a kidney (or their second monitor).

A room full of your people

Agencies, freelancers, hosting and product teams, and a big group of students about to enter the WordPress world. A few types of people who are hard to find in one place anywhere else:

  • The agency that might use your plugin, theme, or hosting across 30 client sites
  • The freelancer who recommends tools to every client they touch
  • The student who will become your next hire, your next support engineer, or your next competitor (be nice to them now)

Let’s be honest about ROI

We won’t promise several leads. Nobody honest can, and anyone who does is probably also selling you a “guaranteed #1 on Google” package. Tony Perez, writing about sponsorship in a 2016 WP Tavern post, put it well: WordCamps are “community driven, but they are sponsor enabled.”

What we can promise is real, if harder to put in a spreadsheet:

  • Visibility with people who actually use WordPress
  • Face-to-face relationships that no cold email can build
  • Hiring access to local talent
  • Direct product feedback, delivered in person (sometimes with opinions)

For reference, WordCamp Nepal 2026 in Butwal had 660+ WordPress enthusiasts, 27 Generous Sponsors, and 450+ New Contributors on Contributor Day.

When sales are slow, talk to each other.

Sales are down for many WordPress businesses right now. The instinct is to put your head down and fight harder. We’d suggest the opposite.

Hosting companies, plugin makers, SaaS teams, and agencies all depend on each other. A WordCamp is where a plugin team meets a hosting team and ends up building a bundle together. It’s where an agency finds the tool that fixes their biggest headache. Teams from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, and all around the world will be in the same place at the same time. When everyone is losing sales, it’s smarter to connect and grow together than to quietly lose alone. Also, it’s a much better use of January than refreshing your analytics dashboard every ten minutes.

Sponsors have always said it best.

“Sponsoring WordCamp is more than supporting an event; it’s an investment in the community and the future of WordPress. It helps bring people together, creates opportunities to learn and collaborate, supports new talent, and strengthens the open-source ecosystem. By giving back to the community that has helped us grow, we also help ensure that WordPress continues to thrive.” – Past Sponsors.
