(because the best deals happen near the snacks)
Ask anyone who has been to a WordCamp what they remember most. It’s rarely slide 14 of a talk. It’s the conversation by the dinner table, the stranger who turned out to run a hosting company, and the “wait, you built that plugin?” moment that happened somewhere around the second cup.
That’s what the Before Party and After Party at WordCamp Nepal 2027 are for. And yes, you can put your brand on one of them.
First, the basics
WordCamp Nepal 2027 is on January 29 – 30, 2027, in Nepalgunj, the first time WordCamp Nepal has ever come to the city. We’re expecting 650+ attendees, and January 29 is Contributor Day.

Why a party and not just a booth?
People standing at a booth often feel like they’re being sold to, and many quietly retreat. A commenter on the WP Tavern article about WordCamp sponsorship made the same point: attendees want to connect, not be pitched.
Parties flip that. Nobody is pitching. People are relaxed, a bit hungry, and quite happy to talk. That’s when a founder tells you what’s really wrong with their current plugin, or an agency owner asks whether you can handle their next big client. The official WordCamp organiser handbook sums it up: after-parties “help attendees make connections.” Some first-time attendees even skip half the sessions for it, which we do not officially endorse but quietly understand.
What happens at the Before Party
The Before Party is the warm-up. It’s the evening before the event, when people arrive in Nepalgunj, find their friends, and meet the faces behind the usernames they’ve known for years.
Expect:
- A relaxed welcome. Name badges, easy introductions, and a lot of “wait, you’re that [Twitter or LinkedIn name]?”
- Food and drinks. Enough that nobody has to hunt for dinner after a long day of travel.
- Speakers, organisers and volunteers meeting in a small, calm setting before the big day starts. The WordCamp handbook notes that speakers are usually “on” in a big crowd, so a smaller gathering lets them relax.
- Early connections. The person you meet tonight is the person you’ll sit next to at a session tomorrow.
- Sponsor recognition. Your brand is the one welcoming everybody into WordCamp Nepal 2027.
It’s the first impression of the whole event, and you’d be part of it.
What happens at the After Party
The After Party is the celebration. The sessions are done, the badges are crumpled, and now people actually talk. It starts right after the last session ends on January 30.
Expect:
- Food, drinks, and music. A proper dinner-style evening, not just a bag of chips.
- A chance to catch up with the speakers you missed and the sponsors you didn’t get to visit.
- Real conversations. This is where “we should totally collaborate” turns into “let’s schedule a call on Monday.”
- Photos and stories that people post for weeks afterwards, with your brand quietly in the background.
It’s the last memory attendees leave with, and the one they’ll talk about on the bus home.

Networking Parties: Where the Real Connections Happen
This isn’t our first time throwing a great party!
Back at WordCamp Nepal 2026 in Butwal, long-time community partners helped us kick things off with a fantastic Before Party that got everyone talking early. And right after the talks ended on conference day, we wrapped up the event with an unforgettable After Party for the whole crowd.
It turns out that some of the best conversations and biggest ideas happen over tea and snacks after the main event.
“Sponsoring the official networking party gave us direct, meaningful face-time with community leaders and tech talent in an informal setting. It was by far one of our most rewarding community investments of the year.” – Past Event Sponsor
A few friendly rules
- Party sponsors follow the same WordPress community sponsorship rules as everyone else, including no claims that WordCamp endorses your product.
- Sponsorship has nothing to do with speaking slots.
Who is it for?
Hosting companies, plugin and theme teams, SaaS products, agencies, and anyone who prefers building relationships over refreshing the leads dashboard. If your brand is friendly, a little fun, and looking to meet the people who’ll shape the next year of WordPress in South Asia, this is your seat.
